Substance Use Prevention Programs
The Beltrami Area Service Collaborative (BASC) offers youth-led programs that prevent substance use and strengthen community wellbeing. Our initiatives focus on empowering students, elevating youth voice, and building leadership skills to create lasting change.

RISE ABOVE is a youth-led prevention initiative at Bemidji High School and Blackduck High School, developed in partnership with Beltrami County Public Health. Guided by a Youth Advisory Committee, students design campaigns, lead peer-to-peer education, and promote positive choices around cannabis and substance use. Together, we are building healthier schools and a stronger community.
"Together Rise Above and Own Your Future"

The UPLIFT Project is a peer-led prevention program at Bemidji Middle School that empowers youth to build leadership skills and make healthy choices. Through interactive activities, mentoring, and youth-driven campaigns, the program focuses on preventing cannabis and substance use while promoting positive alternatives.
This project is supported through the CanRenew Community Restoration Grant awarded by MN Office of Cannabis Management
