Position Summary
Beltrami Area Service Collaborative (BASC) is seeking a dedicated, motivated, self-directed professional to provide school-based prevention and early intervention services to youth. This position plays a key role in supporting students experiencing behavioral concerns, truancy, and early risk factors through relationship-building, skill development, and individualized support.
The IPS will be embedded within a Bemidji school-based setting and work closely with school staff, students, and community partners to promote positive outcomes and reduce system involvement.
This position may also support and coordinate youth-led substance use prevention initiatives within the school and community.
Key Responsibilities

Provide early intervention and prevention services to students identified by school staff

Support students with truancy, behavioral concerns, and emerging risk factors

Facilitate individual and small group sessions using evidence-based or skill-building curricula

Build strong relationships with students to support positive decision-making and goal setting

Coordinate and support youth-led substance use prevention programming, including student engagement, activities, and awareness efforts

Collaborate with school staff, administration, and community partners

Maintain accurate documentation and data tracking for program reporting

Participate in team meetings and contribute to a coordinated system of support
Minimum Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, education, or related field, or at least two years of experience working with youth

Must be at least 21 years of age
Required Skills & Abilities

Experience working with adolescents in school or community-based settings preferred

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team

Must be able to exercise initiative, work independently, meet deadlines, and have strong communication skills
-
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches is a plus
